Swiss taxes work differently. We know how.

Expats face questions locals never have to ask.
These are the situations we deal with every day.

Just moved to Switzerland

Depending on your permit and canton, you may need to file in your very first year. We check what applies to you and take it from there.

Taxed at source (B or L permit)

Withholding tax is a flat rate that rarely reflects your real situation. We check whether you must – or should – file anyway.

Worried about double taxation

We apply the relevant double taxation agreement so you don't pay tax twice on the same income.

Missing out on deductions

Pillar 3a, pension buy-ins, work expenses, childcare, training: with a subsequent ordinary tax assessment you can claim them – and often get money back.

Income or assets abroad

Switzerland taxes worldwide income and assets. We declare foreign accounts, pensions and property correctly – no surprises later.

Complex household

Spouse living abroad, living and working in different cantons, freelance income on the side – we handle the cases other services avoid.

Important information

* Processing takes place in the order in which orders are received. Work begins only once all required information and documents have been submitted in full. The necessary deadline extension will be arranged by us.

‍** For all orders, a deadline extension will be requested up to the latest possible date, provided this is still available.

Application deadline 31 March

Taxed at source? Don't miss your chance to claim deductions.

In many cantons, the application for a subsequent ordinary tax assessment must be filed by 31 March of the following year. Miss it, and you lose your right to claim deductions for that year. We file it for you – CHF 80.

Questions expats ask us

Here you’ll find answers to the tax questions we most frequently receive from expats in Switzerland.

Do I need to file a tax return if I just moved to Switzerland?

It depends on your permit type, your canton and your income. You may need to file in your first year – for example if you earn income that isn't taxed at source, such as freelance work, or if your salary exceeds the withholding tax threshold. We'll check your situation for you.

I'm taxed at source. Do I still need to file?

If your gross salary is above CHF 120,000 a year, or you have other income above CHF 3,000 or assets above CHF 80,000 (CHF 160,000 for couples), a subsequent ordinary tax assessment is mandatory. Below that, applying voluntarily can still pay off, because it lets you claim deductions such as Pillar 3a, pension buy-ins or childcare costs.

Do I have to declare income and accounts abroad?

Yes. Switzerland taxes worldwide income and assets, so foreign bank accounts, pensions and property must be declared – even if you have already paid tax on them abroad. Double taxation agreements usually prevent you from being taxed twice.

I live in one canton and work in another. Where do I pay tax?

Your canton of residence generally determines your tax liability. It gets more complex if your work canton withholds tax at source or you have additional income – in that case an adjustment or reassessment may be needed. We sort this out for you.

Which documents do I need?

Typically your salary statement, bank statements, proof of rent, insurance records and – if relevant – foreign documents such as pension or property details. After ordering, you get a personalised checklist and upload everything online.

Which languages do you offer?

Our portal, our tax experts and our support are available in German, English, French and Italian, so you can handle your tax return in the language you prefer.
